Latest Solutions. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information. Not enough pictures.

Chim , Mar 9, I also like WindowsXP very much. Presently running Win7 though. Booboo58 , Mar 9, Back when this very computer was still my brother-in-law's computer, I did at one time actually get at image of its HD with Macrium Reflect and saved it onto my Flash Drive.

Who is right? Macrium Reflect would probably work from a flash drive but I guess that would depend on how much needs to be backed up. An external HD would have enough space to backup numerous drives, numerous times. That way you could backup your drive today and next month and the next month and so on. We all have programs that we eliminate for one reason or another and this way you would always have a current backup of your HD.

My latest current backup on my external drive is I have a lot of needed programs. Last edited: Mar 9, That time that I made an HD image of this computer when it was my brother-in-law's, I believe I recall the file size was only a little over 6 Gig. Now that it's my computer, it would almost assuredly be a little bit more than that, but not by much Anyway, thanks for the info, Booboo. Chim , Mar 11, Chim, you can probably find them in the history of your updates.

I don't remember if they are arranged newest to oldest. If so, they should be close to the top of the history list. I just did it on Wed. I didn't know how to find the history of my updates, so I did some Googling. I did that and did see some updates that have been installed since back in and , but nothing in , much less the Drivers from the other day. Any other idea how and where I can possibly find those Drivers?

Chim , Mar 12, I tried looking on our one XP computer but it isn't connected to the internet so I got no where. Okay, I'll be checking this thread. The Flash Drive has been working fine, including the various PortableApps. Like you, though, I don't feel comfortable at all letting Windows just blindly find and install Drivers. I certainly don't want to remotely make that a habit.

That's why even though out of curiosity some time back I installed Slim Driver and Driver Max or whatever those certain two Driver-finding Apps are named so as to somewhat check them out, I never did actually pull the trigger as far as actually letting them install the supposed newer Drivers that they found.

I just felt too uneasy. Before trying out those 2 Apps, I had assumed that whatever Drivers they would find would be guaranteed to be genuine, official and SAFE. Chim , Mar 13, You should then be able to see exactly what drivers were installed on or about 8 March I selected the Arrange Icons by Modified View option. I can really only see on the left pane that that "drivers" folder was modified on "March 9, Ahhh, but maybe this was possibly not all for naught.

In their arranged by modified layout, I checked out the file Icons starting from the bottom of the drivers folder window in reverse order.
